Halloween reading
Fat Vampire by Adam Rex.
Doug "Meatball" Lee is a fat vampire. No one really took him seriously before he was turned. No one really takes him seriously now. Doug wants the same things all fifteen-year-old boys want: acceptance from the cool kids and attention from the cute foreign exchange student. Of course being a vampire complicates things, especially when the star of Vampire Hunters wants to stake him to boost ratings and the cute foreign exchange student starts to figure things out...

I actually have wondered before why you never see fat vampires...
ReplyDeleteIt was great meeting you at the conference, and I love your blog! The "About My Assistants" page is my favorite. :)
Hi Susan. You should read Adam Rex's FAT VAMPIRE then. Such a sad story. A blood-only diet and Doug still can't lose weight :)
ReplyDeleteIt was fun to meet you too. Come back December 1st so you can enter the PANDEMONIUM giveaway.
Ah, those pesky assistants. Good thing they don't get paid based on their cuteness, or I would be broke.
It sounds like a wonderful read. I didn't realize that vampires had some of the same self esteem issues that humans have. LOL!
ReplyDeleteIt was nice meeting you at SCBWI-MO!
